My name is Florence. I have a Master’s in Psychology from the University of Fribourg in Switzerland. I am also certified in hypnotherapy, progressive muscle relaxation, and autogenic training. I also serve as a PAC™ Certified Independent Consultant. All of this enables me to take a comprehensive approach to accompany you in your care partnering journey.

My interest in dementia care took root in my childhood. My great-grandmother lived with Alzheimer’s and I was very close to her. Her presence in my life taught me how to connect with elders with dementia, and those cherished memories continue to fuel my work today.

Years later, I became the primary care partner of my grandmother as she faced significant health challenges. It was a transformative time for me. This experience helped me build resilience and taught me the importance of self-care in maintaining a supportive and compassionate relationship with her. At the time, I turned to Progressive Muscle Relaxation and Autogenic Training to help me manage stress. Eventually, I became certified to teach both techniques. While caring can be demanding, the time I spent with my grandmother created some of the most cherished memories I have with her.

In addition to my experience as a primary care partner, I have worked in various healthcare facilities in Switzerland and the USA. While working in the USA, I discovered Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach to Care® (PAC). This method emphasises the need for connection, empathy, and practical skills. I felt drawn to this method and became a PAC-certified independent consultant. I implemented these skills at work and was astonished by how people living with dementia responded.
